EPF Donates RM50,000 To Pahang Flood Victims

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) today offered its assistance to families severely hit by the recent floods in Pahang by donating RM50,000 to the state disaster fund, Kumpulan Wang Amanah Jawatankuasa Malapetaka Banjir Negeri Pahang.

“Many families suffered severe losses and extensive damage during the floods which affected the state late last year. Although tremendous help has been received from the government, they are still in urgent need of more assistance,” said Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Operations) of the EPF, Encik Ibrahim Taib.

“We wish to play our role to help the flood victims get their lives back on track. We hope that this small contribution will help alleviate the plight of the victims, some of whom may also be EPF members,” said Encik Ibrahim.

The EPF has offered similar support in the past in previous flood situations including contributing RM50,000 to flood victims in Johor in 2006 and donating a much-needed stove to the afflicted residents.
